    Diagnostic imaging is a scientific technology that uses X-rays, ultrasound waves, or magnetic fields (MRI) to represent the structure of the human body through pictures to provide clinical information to doctors to make an accurate diagnosis.

    The Imaging Department of Gia Khang International Hospital performs diagnostic surveys, interventional procedures, and patient care coordination to meet the requirements of patients’ and doctors’ expectations.

    Laboratory Department

    Laboratory Department – Gia Khang International Hospital is a modern facility that performs all kinds of emergency tests and routine tests, including a full range of specialized fields: Biochemical Testing, Immunology, Hematology, Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Pathology.

    The department provides the most reliable and timely results, maximizes support for clinicians in diagnosing and treating diseases.


    The laboratory department of Gia Khang International Hospital fully meets the external and internal standards in testing.

    External Quality Assessment (EQA) provides objective evidence of the faculty’s capacity. It is serving as a basis for the communication and recognition of test results between medical examination and treatment facilities that have performed tests to reduce inconveniences and costs for patients, save society’s resources, and at the same time integrate the network of testing quality control. EQA is also a tool to assess the quality and reliability of test results, ensure accurate, timely, standardized test results and identify nonconformities during the implementation process testing techniques to improve test quality.

    Internal Quality Control (IQC) is performed by laboratory technicians to continuously and rapidly monitor the testing process. IQC performs the analysis on controls known tested results daily in the laboratory. It helps to detect errors while performing routine tests.


    The biochemical, hematological, and immunological tests are performed by automated systems giving accurate results and saving time:

    – Roche Cobas E601 automatic immunoassay

    Capacity: Up to 170 tests/hour

    Test principle: Using electroluminescence technology with high sensitivity, wide range, and short incubation time.

    Number of tests: Perform most immunological tests (thyroid, reproductive endocrinology, cancer, hepatitis, infectious disease, bacterial infection, cardiovascular, anemia, bone masker,…).

    Needle samples: Cobas e601 uses a needle system with its type tip, limiting sample cross-contaminated.

    – Roche Cobas C501 automatic biochemistry machine

    Capacity: 1000 tests/hour (photometric and ISE)

    Main tests: Clinical biochemical tests, electrolyte tests (ISE: K, Na, Cl), HbA1c diabetes test. – Load reagents automatically during the operation process.

    Can test many specimens such as serum, plasma, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, whole blood. The small sample was collected from only 1.0 – 35 μL, automatically detecting blood clot to avoid missing sample.

    Chemical substances and samples are mixed ultrasonic methods without stirring rods to avoid sample cross-contaminated.

    The Cobas U 411 Urine Analyzer 

    • Convenient and accurate analysis, providing an intuitive and efficient urinalysis solution for each patient.
    • The semi-automated urine work area, it is designed for qualitative to semi-quantitative use of urine substances, including specific gravity (SG), pH, leukocytes, nitrite, protein, glucose, ketones, urobilinogen, bilirubin, and red blood cells, and color.

    A semi-automated Urine Work Area. It is designed for workloads of approximately 30 – 100 samples per day and can be connected to a barcode reader and sediment terminal. This enables optimized workflows and seamless data exchange.

    A fully automated blood plasma analysis system for determining in-vitro coagulation. The system performs detection of blood clotting time using chronometric, colorimetric, and immunoturbidimetric methods. The system is designed to operate 24 hours a day.
